Re: Proddy 1000 - Noon Start - Update
Roads due to close at 11:30 for start at Noon, for a 3 lapper.

Mist still hanging over the South of the Island at 11:00 But bright and sunny in the North.

Visibility at the Grandstand is mixed, with Greeba mountain barely visible.

Anstey was fastest in practice then Lougher, next Archibald and Britton.

Red flag yesterday was given by the Cerk of the Course for poor visibility (not on the roads)which would have prevented the medical helicopter from landing in the Cronk-y-Voddy area. Many riders confused and couldn't initially understand why the race was red flagged.

Cloud lifting at the Grandstand now, and still on for a noon start. Sun now starting to shine.

Chris Kinley doing his rounds in the paddock now trying to have a chat with whoever he can grab a hold of.

The helicopters are up in the air, and the roads are now officially closed at 11:30

Re: Proddy 1000 - Delayed
The start will be delayed by 30 minutes and not for weather, but for a serious road accident at Windy Corner, and someone who has left their car in Pit Lane ????

Motorcycles parked in the slip road at Braddan Church also.

Re: Proddy 1000 - Update (3)
Chris Kinley talks to Umberto Rumiano who has won a replica and says he is really enjoying his time on the Island. He is out today on the MV.

Hector Neal "Hopefully we will get away now at half past", and sounding very cheery.

Gordon Blackley who had his bike flown in by plane says "The delays are terrible and really upset the riders concentration, quite difficult to deal with". However he "agrees with the officials where safety is paramount". He adds that " The officials really need to listen to the riders more concerning the event in general".

The report from Ramsey is that all traffic was stopped before the roads closed order came into effect because of the Windy Corner accident.

Re: Proddy 1000 - Update (4)
40 Suzukis, 14 Yamahas, 9 Hondas, 4 Kawasakis on the grid. Is this a reflection of Suzukis success on the Island over the past few years ?

Chris Kinley again. Chatting to Alex Donaldson who expresses his frustration at not getting away on time, but says "You just have to deal with it, and confirms he can do 2 laps on a tank, but only about an eggcup left after the 2."

He congratulates Alan Marshall on his 46th birthday.

Alan "Bud" Jackson - "Geoff Cannells voice over the radio has been missed this year".

Re: Proddy 1000 - Update (5)
The race is on for a 12:30 start - confirmed.

Ian Hutchinson who's hero was DJ is here for the first time and has performed very well so far. Keep an eye open for him as he may be a bit of a surprise package.

Maria Costello goes again this year riding Island Motorcycles bikes after losing her promised package before the TT.

Michael Rutter seen wandering around the paddock.

Paddock gate now open to allow the riders out to the grid.

Big H - "Yeah looking forward to it, just chilling out and enjoying it, well inside the 750 proddy record in practice."

Re: Proddy 1000 - Update (6)
Bruce Anstey - "It doesn't quite seem the same as it was last year, not quite as organised for whatever reason."

Ian Lougher - "Little bit more relaxed than yesterdays race after having a lot more time to prepare and dial in, going to be an interesting race and the fuel thing is ridiculous, not allowing any modifications to the tanks."

Martin Finnegin " Good start yesterday, and a marshall jumped out on me last night with a red flag and I was surprised because I had not seen any yellow flags before that".

Maria Costello ther listening to Hotel California on her head set as she settles in for the start.

Archi - "Maybe a bit of a let off for me yesterday the race being stopped, as I was obviously a wee bit too relaxed from the start".

Jason Griffiths " This is going to be a hell of a race".

Richard Britton " Bit slack yesterday and only in 6th"

Gary Carswell - " Really looking forward to today and the Yamaha is really working well for me".
