DAY TWO AT SNETTERTON BRINGS MORE WET WEATHER
[Image: KyleRydeTesting.jpg]

After the lack of action on Tuesday due to the considerably inclement weather, it was a welcome return to track action on Wednesday for the RICH Energy OMG Racing pairing of Kyle Ryde and Billy McConnell. Blue skies and a cool breeze welcomed the riders for their respective morning sessions, both keen to make the most of the shorter 30-minute sessions around the 2.9 miles of tarmac that makes up Snetterton 300.

Aussie McConnell was out first in a session that matched the Pirelli National Superstock Championship and the Quattro Group British Supersport campaigners together across today and tomorrow's sessions to maximise track time around the longest circuit on the 2021 calendar. Making the best of the early conditions 'Skippy' posted the third-fastest time in the Superstock class as the flag dropped on the session, carrying on his top three form from Silverstone last week.

Former 125cc and GP2 British Champion, Kyle Ryde's work focussed on one particular area of the BMW M1000RR that he felt he wasn't getting the best from around the fast, flowing circuit ending the first outing 0.8s off the fastest time. With a plan in place, the second session of the day was interrupted by a Red Flag after iForce Lloyd & Jones BMW rider Joe Francis had a heavy fall at turn three but rather than let the interruption unsettle him, Ryde dipped under the 1m 50s barrier, posting the fourth-fastest time, just 0.3 off fastest man, Iddon. Disappointingly it was a case of as you were for the rest of the day for the Bennetts British Superbike field as the unfavourable weather returned to Norfolk and with it bringing an early end to their day.

McConnell found himself a little more fortunate as the former British Supersport Champion managed two more sessions before the weather closed in. In session two of the day, a solid second-fastest time put the Adelaide man within 0.5s of fastest man Truelove before a set-up change for session three left McConnell without the same feeling on his BMW M1000RR, however, this is the reason we go testing as not every change the crew makes will work.

With four sessions each for Thursday, the weather looks better still, but then the Met Office said that yesterday and it still rained (and hailed) today so let's just see what the day brings...
