Re: Museum Closure
We've tried to purchase two of my dad's old bikes which he sold for virtually nothing. One just re sold for Au$18,000 so I know how you feel. I jolly well hope the collection is going to be accessible somewhere for us when we visit next year.

Re: Museum Closure
Again sad news!
It will be a great loss for the IoM and the TT. It was allways funny to be at the museum and have a smalltalk with Peter. Is there no possibility for the Isle of Man government to take the museum at the place where it is? Have they no money?? I saw allways only banks etc. when I came on the island. Next year we are 25 years on our campsite by the Dhoon but I feel it will be the last time. Sad times , very sad!!

Re: Museum Closure
I'd just like to put on record my disappointment at the closure of Murry's.
I've been there many times and particulary remember stopping there on a very cold wet day during the TT one year we had a coffee in the cafe and were joined by lots of equally cold wet folks sheltering from the rain.
My favourite exhibit is the Honda 90 ridden to the TT from Sweden by an old guy whose name excapes me.
Murray's is one of the great TT traditions when on holiday there it is a disgrace that it is being allowed to close and the colection lost.

What price progress.

Re: Museum Closure
Harry Lundberger (The Professor) rode that 90 from Sweden to the Rock for many years.

Sadly, he died only a few months ago, at an advanced age.

Re: Museum Closure
Good point,I am sure many exhibits were donated, including I believe the Hailwood 1961 Honda 125cc.I would be surprised if Honda have not place a convenant on it should an open sale occur.
