Tower of Refuge ready to collapse
The condition of one of the Island's most famous landmarks is causing such concern that a structural engineer has been called in.

Such is the current state of the Tower of Refuge in Douglas Bay that it is uncertain whether decorative lights can be mounted on it.

Another Landmark...Now this needs preserving !!

a sad state of affairs
On another thread it has been suggested that we begin sending emails about those things that we love about the Island and the TT and don't want to lose. Maybe the Tower would be a good first project.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Harry

I'll have to see if I can get enough air in the trailer tyres to make it float, I could tow it over behind the boat then Big Grin

E-mails and letters
Yes , Harry, I agree.
This is another topic for us to show our support.
Pehaps we need an umbrella title?
There is already the TT Supportres club, of course.
How about "Friends of the Isle of man?"
Any other suggestions?

I know! "Come fert(s)"
as in come fer t races!

Big Grin

I like that Ian.
But my idea was based around being friends of The Island, not just the racing?
Anyone else got a coment?

Ultimate Event
The ultimate event was when the Giant Finn McCoull threw the sod of earth pulled out of Lough Neagh to land quite centrally in the Irish Sea................This produced the Isle of Man did it not...?

Since then the event has continued without a break....

That's my reasoning !!
