Memorial Lap
I think that there should be a memorial lap done one day during the 2007 TT fornight (Senior race day?) It would be for all riders, that have died either during racing, or had been a great racer and died in other unfortunate circumstances. E.g Steve Hislop, Joey Dunlop, David Jefferies.

Who would I write to about this idea?

With all the memorials around the course(and elsewhere), and the Memorial wall at the Cemetary opposite the Grandstand, I think you will find that there is little support for Memorial laps on the Island due to the massive disruption they cause.

I raised this last year, on another forum, and was surprised by the amount of resistance to the idea....but I understand the arguements against.

It was also pointed out that as 2007 was a 'Celebration' of 100 years of the TT and 'they' didn't particularly want Memorial events which focussed on the more unfortunate side of the TT races.
Youth is wasted on the under forties !
