Not bikes, but....
Congratulations to Gail Griffiths (Musson) on being selected to represent the Isle of Man at the Island games on Rhodes in July. The full story is on http://www.manxathletics.com.
Two years ago Gail and David missed the Southern100 to see the Games on Shetland, and now she's a team member.
Given the few years she has been competing, and (dare I say it) her age, this is an amazing achievement, and she has worked SO hard for this. She deserves all the success she gets. Well done, Gail... you're a star... again!!

Full details of the Isle of Man team is at http://www.iomathletics.co.uk/island_games.htm , and the official event website is at http://www.rhodes2007.info/

I'm exceptionally proud of Gail's achievement in reaching the Island Games, after only a couple of years of really serious running. The Island Games is held every 2 years, and has developed into a marvellous event since its inception here on the Isle of Man in 1985. 25 islands from all over the world compete in a 'mini-Olympics' involving 14 sports, which now gets considerable press and TV coverage. Rhodes will be a great place to be, but perhaps not for the distance runners as it will be VERY hot and humid. A total contrast from the Shetland Islands in 2005!
