DTL Statement on Accident at the 26th
A copy of the statement from the DTL:

The Department of Tourism and Leisure, the promoters of the 2007 TT races, can confirm that a number of people from the TT2007 race organisation have been interviewed by the Isle of Man Constabulary. These interviews are to establish the facts and background concerning the incident at the 26th Milestone during the Senior TT on Friday 8th June which resulted in the death of a competitor and two spectators.

A comprehensive investigation is taking place including witness interviews and interviews under caution. This is standard practice following an accident of this nature at the TT races. No charges have been pressed. The DTL and other government agencies, the Auto Cycle Union (ACU), the TT Marshals Association (TTMA), the Manx Motor Cycle Club (MMCC) are assisting with, and support, this investigation.

The DTL, in conjunction with relevant partners, review course safety for all spectators, officials and competitors at the end of every TT and ensure that any findings are used to make improvements to the race safety.
