After an almost unbelieveable 5 wins in the 2010 TT we have a modest British sporting hero in our sport who surely deserves far more recognition than he is likely to get in the mainstream "sporting" press. How about a campaign, when the time comes, for all motorcycle people to vote for him in the 'BBC Sports Personality of the Year' event. I'm sure that if we all, husbands, wives, partners, children, friends, vote individually then we can out-vote the generally over-paid, over-priced ball players and such.
The boxing fraternity managed it with Joe Calzaghe in 2007 (and with Ricky Hatton in 3rd place too).

i'd nominate Paul Owen for it too!
