STEAMY PACKET
I have just returned home for lunch to find a message on 1571 from the IOMSPCL to say my ferries have been changed, can I contact them !!

I just cannot believe this situation that has manifested itself, I booked many many months ago and now, only a couple of days before I sail, they have changed my ferries.

I haven't time to sit on the 'phone trying to find out what they have done to my bookings.r

I have tried phoning them back but it rings, and rings and rings..

NIGHTMARE !!!

Took me about 30mins for me to get through. My sailings changed times and port as well. Not the best time to have problems with boats, I can see some people not getting the message of the Steam Packet that there times have changed and that. Its not looking to rosy at the moment.

True
I was lucky inasmuch is that I was waiting for a call from someone else or I would have missed the IOMSPCL call... They say that they are backing up all phone calls with a letter (so it says on their website press section) but it does really make yer wonder, especially in this centenary year.

Like most people I book what I can get off and will be sick if I have to set off later or come home earlier..

DEAR G**
Just off the phone after a desperately long wait until a person became free due to unprecedented numbers of phone calls.....

Going over is the same but I'm allocated 3AM on Race day Friday so I'll be over in Liverpool when the race is on !!

I booked last year with a bigger deposit than normal, to secure the sailings I wanted and I have to be back home on Saturday morning for personal reasons.

Anyone willing to SWAP a 3AM for a 6PM sailing on the Race Friday PLEASE ???

I am told that the staff at IOMSPCL are receiving some abuse, some of which is quite nasty....

All because the ferry they have booked is smaller than they planned..

What happened to all those ferries that used to leave on the Friday and clear the Island in an organised way..

( I was right about the "Cutty Sark" then !!)

Could the IOMSPCL draft in a vessel just for the weekend ??

I despair !!
