That was his Dad, Sandy, who was a great rider, but retired when Steven was born.
He came back to racing when Steven was a teenager, but he died very suddenly when he was 42.
In the Manx results you would also find his wee brother Garry. Garry was extremely talented, and set for a great career, but died, aged 17 or 18, in a freak, low speed accident at Silloth. He had just returned from winning the 350 newcomers Manx in 1982. Bad year 1982, like 2003.

I used to go to Silloth to watch Mike Grant around the same time Gary was lost.

The Hislop story really is a tragic one.
Let the dug see the rabbit.

One of Steven's sons is Garry's double. You can see a picture of Garry and his big brother in the Quiz section.

If anyone else has any pics of Sandy (Alexander) Hislop or Garry racing, it would be greatly appreciated!

Aaron and Connor, his grandchildren are very interested in finding out information and have a scrap book of old pics that people have sent. they find it facinating!

Cheers, Kelly.
